Since I am just starting to blog, I am going to start with a
little update of what we have been up to the last little bit (by little bit, I
mean like the last 8 months so prepare yourself).
Last December, Drew graduated from BYU with his Master's
degree in Civil Engineering emphasizing on structures. He got a job in Nampa,
Idaho, and started in February. We packed up and moved before Christmas, before
we even found a place to live. So we bummed back and forth between our parents
for about a month.
We found a little house to rent in Kuna and got settled quickly
since Drew hadn’t started work yet. It was fun to have so much time to spend
together for that month and a half while he was waiting to start his new job. Drew’s
favorite restaurant of all-time, El
Gallo Giro, is in Kuna and we lived just right down the road. For about the
first two months we lived in Kuna, we ate there AT LEAST once a week, a little
overboard I know. If any of you are ever in the area, we would love to take you
there!
We didn’t stay in Kuna long though, because by April we
found a house to buy in Nampa and moved in the beginning of June. Although it was short, we loved our time in
Kuna. We really liked our ward there and made lots of connections right
off. I got to work with the Young Women
in our ward,
which was a lot of fun for me (I don’t know how much fun it was for them). We
have been gone for two months now, but I still think about my little 12 and 13-year-old
girls often.
It was fun being back
in a family ward where there were actually youth and primary kids in the ward. In Provo, we went to a married student ward,
so it was mostly people our own age and situation (we loved that ward too,
btw). It took Sammy a while to get used to nursery, but for the most part she
did a good job. She always cried when we dropped her off and would run after us
down the hallway, but once she got calmed down, she always stayed and had a
good time. Drew was able to work as a ward missionary and in the Elder’s Quorum
while in Kuna. Getting callings right off the bat, gave us a chance to jump
right in and get to know people.
Now we have been in our new house for about two months and
love it (my next post will have to be about the house). We have met a lot of
people in our new ward, but it is so hard to keep up when you are new. The
transition to this ward is taking a little longer than the last, but hopefully
we will find our place soon. On the
upside, Sammy LOVES her new nursery class and hasn’t cried about going once
since we moved.
So far we are loving our time in Idaho! It is great being so
close to family and having babysitters! Since Sammy is the only grandchild on
Drew’s side and the only one that lives close to my parents, she is so SPOILED!!!
That little girl has a lot of people wrapped
around her finger.
This is probably enough of an update for now, but I’ll have to do a little post about Sammy and her obsession with Pink Floyd soon too. This little girl cracks me up.

Anyway, hope you all enjoyed the little update, thanks for
